My interest in bodywork began while receiving a massage as a psychology undergraduate. Insights occurred to me that had been evading traditional talk therapy, sparking both personal and professional interests. In 2004 I graduated from the Florida School of Massage, became a licensed massage therapist, and moved to Boston. I honed my skills working at an Aveda spa and put myself through a Masters in Mental Health with a Holistic focus at Lesley University, completed in 2010. In 2011, an opportunity to join the wellness team at Google presented itself. In addition to my primary role as a massage therapist, I taught classes on mindfulness, self-massage, stretching and activation to empower people to support their wellbeing. Among a multitude of continuing education opportunities, I have been fortunate to learn prenatal massage from Carol Osborne, Orthopedic work from Ben Benjamin, fascial theory with Tom Meyers, Oncology with Tracy Walton, self-massage with Jill Miller and somatic work with Deane Juhan - all luminaries in the field. While my training in Mental Health Counseling informs my massage practice, I am not a licensed clinician and encourage folks to have the appropriate team for their unique needs. My practice is Trauma Informed and Client-Centered. I am thrilled to be bringing my skills to the community as my career continues to evolve and hope my path of personal and professional exploration can help support your path.
