I first studied massage in Richmond, Va, over 20 years ago. As I was practicing massage I began to turn more inward and was becoming more introspective. I had always been curious about Buddhism but it was during my time in massage school that I truly started becoming more in touch with myself. I came across a Buddhist group and started attending and immediately felt connected to it. A few month later I went to a monastery in NY and met the abbot there and knew it was something I had to do. A year later I became a monk. I did the traditional 3 year retreat and was given the tile Lama. During this time I still did massages as a way to make money for myself while also helping others. I went to Thailand and studied there for 4 months and became a certified teacher trainer in Thai Massage. I later moved to Chicago and went to school at the New School of Massage so I could get my hours and become licensed in Illinois. Since then I have studied Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy, Cupping, Sports Massage and most importantly Myofascial Release. I have studied over 120 hours of MFR in one year. I am passionate about MFR as I know it works and it is extremely effective. I always applied mindfulness in my massages but felt that MFR allows me to be even more mindful and intuitive as I approach each client where they are in the moment. Each session is unique. I am excited to share all that I have learned with you. I look forward to working with you!
