I am a licensed massage therapist and certified doula. I am most passionate about caring for mothers and women's health. A doula is a trained companion for the reproductive journey, who provides emotional care, physical comfort support, and evidence-based informational support for families throughout pregnancy, during labor/birth, and the first few weeks after birth. In this first chapter of my business, I still part time employed at a franchise massage company alongside growing my massage business. So an important goal of mine is to gain enough income from my own business that I can leave that job and just work for myself, which will give me the freedom to go back to birth and postpartum doula work and to have more quality of life. Most workplaces are not understanding for their employee to be on-call for birth work and say "I need to suddenly leave work to support a birth. I might be back tomorrow or I might be back in four days, I'll keep you updated!" Therefore, I sought out a career in massage to have the autonomy to block off my schedule for the on-call aspect of doula work and still have a day job to come back to; to have flexibility over my schedule so I have enough time for my own children in the future; and to facilitate a reciprocal relationship with massage and doula work, where each career grows the other, both fulfill my passion of how I want to serve the world, and both nurture what I believe to be the heart of any community - families. I am known for my therapeutic massages that balance relaxation and throughly helping pain through the modalities of Swedish, Deep Tissue (I was taught a unique blend of Deep Tissue, Connective Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Structural Integration), Neuromuscular Therapy (also known as Trigger-Point Therapy, Sports Massage, Prenatal Massage, Childbirth Labor Massage, Postpartum massage, Polarity Therapy, and Hydrotherapy. I am currently in training to become certified in Orthopedic Medical Massage. Next year I hope to become certified in Scar Tissue Release to help solve pains and nerve impingements associated with scar tissue after surgery. I am especially excited to help clients who have experienced caesareans and mastectomies. I non-judgmentally meet you where you're at, actively listen to your issues and to your bodies tissues, and together we find what you need.
