Hi! I'm Jaeci, and thanks for visiting my page. A little bit about me: I've been doing bodywork for over 23 years now. I fell in love with it my first day of school, and I've only grown to love it more every year since. I decided to attend massage school 24 years ago because getting regular massage for the years before helped me get out of the chronic pain of Fibromyalgia (and pain medication) I'd been diagnosed with and was barely managing for years. I was miserable, in constant pain, and was exhausted from years of trying everything I could to get out of it and having no success. Regular massage (from an amazing, intuitive and kind massage therapist who's since retired -- thank you, wonderful Margie!! :) was the only thing that really seemed to help me. After my first year of getting regular (almost weekly) sessions, I was able to get off ALL my pain meds. After another year of sessions, I was completely pain free. I couldn't believe it! I thought I'd be in pain the rest of my life (I was told I would be, by a well-meaning doctor, who wrote me a prescription for pain pills, and added that I should start applying for Disability). Massage was my salvation -- and a life-changer. I knew if I could get completely out of pain, after years and years of it, that I wanted to help others get of pain, too. Since graduating decades ago, I've focused entirely on learning everything I could (including a full "tool bag" of certifications in various techniques) about helping clients FIND THE ROOT CAUSE of their pain, so we can work together to resolve it completely (when possible) -- and not just make them feel better for a few hours. Postural misalignment is one common cause of a lot of postural-related pain (like headaches, neck, back, hip, knee and foot pain, sciatica, bulging discs, etc.). Gently releases the imbalances that cause the misalignment allows the body to rebalance itself and get rid of the pain permanently. Sometimes dehydration is to blame (sinus headaches, toothaches, TMJ, neck pain, general muscle aches, chronic back tension, etc.). Sometimes a congested liver can be the issue (and cause muscle tension, depression, anger, poor sleep, poor digestion). Sometimes even old (or current) physical and emotional trauma can be at the root cause of physical pain we're feeling. I've studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda and Western Medicine for decades, and utilize these teachings in our search to find the root cause of dysfunction; together we generate a plan that incorporates various applications applied with slow and gentle movements designed to help the body rebalance naturally and achieve its balance/homeostasis -- relieving pain and regaining high functioning again. (Rest assured your session will be comfortable -- never PAINFUL! YOUR comfort level is always most the important thing in our sessions, and I make sure that clients only ever feel LESS pain during our sessions, never more pain!) Chronic pain can feel overwhelming and exhausting. It can be hard to remember NOT living in constant pain, and so disappointing to try endless solutions only to be disappointed -- and STILL in pain (or worse pain)!!! I've been there and I DO understand. If you've tried all sorts of practitioners and treatments, and still aren't getting at the root cause of your pain -- reach out to me and schedule a free consultation to discuss your symptoms. I may be able to help. What have you got to lose -- except pain? Hope to see you soon, :)) Jaeci Carr, licensed and Board-certified massage therapist (303) 414 - 0820 (call/voicemail or text) WholeSelfMedicalMassage@gmail.com
