The Koshawell is a massage and private yoga practice that embraces the understanding that our existence goes beyond the physical body, and in order to treat the whole body, we combine the modalities of massage, yoga and meditation. We value treating our clients as individuals with a unique connection with their physical, mental, energetic and intuitive selves. Our mission is to provide support through bodywork, yoga and meditation for those pursuing a more integrated state of wellness.
The Koshawell, at its core, integrates the application of bodywork, yoga, and meditation in order to harmonize the five subtle bodies called “koshas” a Sanskrit word from Yoga philosophy. Koshas are subtle "energy bodies" or "sheaths" that reside inside the physical body. As an individuals develops more awareness of these subtle energy bodies, they are able to use tools learned at Koshawell to find inner calm, presence, and balance.
What are the 5 Koshas?
The Yoga philosophy of Pancha Kosha or the “Five Koshas”, is the concept that our true self is surrounded by sheaths or layers that we use to perceive, take in, and respond to the world around us.
The Five Koshas are the:
1) Physical Sheath (Annamaya Kosha)
2) Energy Sheath (Pranamaya Kosha)
3) Mind Sheath (Manomaya Kosha)
4) Intuition Sheath (Vijnamaya Kosha)
5) Bliss Sheath (Anandamaya Kosha)
