Hello, my name is Josie and I have been blessed with a career as a massage therapist for nearly nine years. After completing my education and training in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2014, I was employed as a Certified Massage Therapist at a location of a well-known national franchise. In 2016, I relocated to Hampton Roads, where I worked another five years at a location of this franchise in Virginia Beach, and was promoted to Lead Massage Therapist. Here I had the opportunity to train both long-time experienced therapists, as well as new graduates from local schools such as Centura College, Advanced Fuller School of Massage Therapy, and Cayce/Reilly School of Massage. It was in this role that I was awarded Therapist of the Year in 2019. During this time, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and became pregnant with my daughter. These two events have added so much to my life, and allowed me to connect with new communities. I have always enjoyed working with those that are neurodiverse and/or mothers, and can now relate to their experience from a personal level. I have worked with local businesses such as Therafusion Massage and Dig Deep Sports Massage & Functional Fitness as an independent contractor, and I opened my first office in the Norfolk Onelife Fitness with Direct Performance Physical Therapy. My current office is now located in Virginia Beach, and I also provide chair massage for events and mobile massage in-home. I specialize in Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Deep Tissue Massage, and have training and certifications in many other modalities, including kinesiology taping, hot stones, aromatherapy, stretching, cupping, and more. I assist clients with a wide range of cases, including, but not limited to: temperomandibular joint disorder, migraines and headaches, plantar fasciitis, chronic pain, scar tissue, arthritis, old and new injuries, and fibromyalgia. I take a detailed, problem-solving approach to massage, and helping people learn to feel their best is my passion!
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
