David Greene (Dave) is currently on the journey of overcoming PTSD. The result of a traumatic childhood filled with violence, neglect and homelessness. At age 16, Dave was able to escape his abusive living situation and moved in with a friend until he was able to get himself through high school.
At 18, he started his career in law enforcement as an animal control officer in Hampton Roads. After 4 years and a jurisdictional change, Dave joined the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office and worked in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center as a deputy.
Over a period of 21 years and several changes in jurisdictions, Dave began to experience crippling PTSD/anxiety, along with flashbacks, panic attacks and vivid memories of his youth in the form of nightmares. Because of these symptoms, he was unable to continue working in law enforcement and had to medically resign. Deciding it was best to remain unemployed, he focused on his mental health.
After 3 years, Dave became inspired by a family member’s struggle to find happiness. A struggle which resulted in a career change to the field of supplemental healthcare, as a licensed massage therapist. Following the example, he enrolled in Lotus Professional College’s Licensed Massage Therapy Program and discovered he had a gift when it came to healing others with his hands. A gift of healing that, in turn, has helped him to heal from his past.
Now a licensed graduate, Dave is excited to offer his services to Farmville, Virginia and hopes to help people experience a better quality of life, through massage. He started Knead More Bodywork to help others heal, while he continues to heal, in an environment conducive to healing.
