Hi there! My name is Karen Oakes, and I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Texas specializing in the John Barnes Method of Myofascial Release as well as therapeutic massage. I have lived with chronic pain the majority of my life, and it had given me a tremendous passion for helping others with their pain symptoms as well.  I see my work as a gentle facilitation rather than "fixing" anything, your body already knows how to heal.  I guide pain relief through slow intentional touch, addressing restrictions and adhesions in the fascia, scars, and tension patterns while holding a safe space for your nervous system to relax. Every session is tailored to your needs, helping your body find space, mobility and comfort.

I completed my foundational massage therapy training through the Texas School of Massage, and received my license to practice massage therapy in the State of Texas in May 2023. I have my own private practice in Pearland, TX called Tranquil Oakes! I worked at Hand and Stone in Webster from June 2023-December 2025 and Interstellar Massage from November 2024-July 2025. I am certified in John Barnes Myofascial Release, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Hot Stone, Himalayan Salt Stones, Body Wraps, Theragun Percussion Therapy, Cold Stone Facial Massage, and Prenatal Massage. I also have experience in Therapeutic and Deep Tissue Massage. 

I am passionate about my career and continue to attend advanced training courses to develop my skills as a therapist, and I cannot wait to show you all the amazing things I have learned! 

When I am not helping people find relief from their pain you can find me spending time with my 3 boys, our cat and dog, listening to audiobooks, and quietly recharging for my next client.
