Adie MacKenzie is a Lymphedema Therapist, Holistic Massage Therapist and Health Coach with over 30 years of experience in massage therapy. Prior to her move to private practice, she worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at the Vanderbilt Dayani Center, a Medical Fitness Center. Currently, she divides her time between her private practice and clinical hours at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt. She graduated summa cum laude from PTA school in 2009.
Originally from Los Angeles, clients have included film & television stars along with world-class athletes, musicians and record producers. Her massage work is praised in both Naomi and Wynonna Judd's autobiographies.
Shortly after completing treatment for breast cancer in 2010, she trained at the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and helped to establish the Vanderbilt Lymphedema Therapy Clinic. In 2013, she obtained an advanced certification through the Lymphology Association of North America.
Her work at Vanderbilt focused on breast cancer rehabilitation, particularly treatment for scar tissue adhesions, functional limitations and Lymphedema. At biennial National Lymphedema Network Conferences in 2012 and 2014, she was honored to be selected to present case-study posters. While serving on the board of the Lymphedema Advocacy Group, Adie went to Washington D.C. in 2014, 2016 and 2018 to advocate for lymphedema patients through lobbying for the Lymphedema Treatment Act.
Moving between clinical work and a private practice allows Adie the autonomy to engage in her advocacy activities while continuing to serve those affected by cancer and dealing with lymphedema, conditions she knows personally.
