Hi! My name is Hayleigh and I'm so glad you found my page. Allow me to share my story : My career all began from a desire to heal myself. By age 24, I was tired of experiencing mysterious health complications, physical pain, and mental anguish from PTSD (which I hadn't yet been diagnosed, hence why my issues were so mysterious and tiresome). Practicing yoga, making art, and being in nature were the only things that eased my suffering. I decided to take a yoga teacher training, which expanded my world view in so many ways. Not only has the practice of yoga transformed my day to day life personally, gaining a deeper understanding of the body encouraged me to go to massage therapy school. And I brought yogic principles with me! I actually view a massage as an extended savasana pose (the final resting position). Interestingly, but not coincidentally, it was halfway through massage school that I received my PTSD diagnosis. I understand firsthand how triggering touch can be. I also learned that it can be extremely healing when applied through a trauma-informed lens. After massage school, I took multiple trainings to better understand trauma in relation to the body. Throughout this time, I was also training in reiki. I spent a couple years to learning before becoming a reiki master, as I was in no rush. I wanted to fully absorb and intimately understand energy work. I have brought all of this knowledge together to offer intentional, energy-infused bodywork sessions. For six months in 2020, I did not see clients in-person and only taught yoga online. I had SO much free time to tend to myself, and in that time I remembered that I'm an artist. As I stated before, making art has always made me feel good. I used to view it as a hobby, an enjoyable way to spend time. And I still view it in a similarly light manner! However, I've realized art is so deeply embedded into my being, I have infused art into everything I do. It is why I love chanting mantras and sound healing. It is why I am drawn to tarot and oracle cards. It is why I enjoy creative movement practices. Because of this realization, I started connecting with other artists and getting involved in the local art scene. Turns out many healers are artistic. I’ve spent the last couple years becoming more clear in my career. I know what I have to offer. I have learned who resonates most with my approach, AND am clear on the type of people I WANT to work with. And it’s this : creatives. Historically, I have helped writers break through their writer blocks, muralists recover from a huge, demanding job, musicians rest after tour while whispers of a new song echo in their mind, actors remember who the heck they are after a role, and thinkers find some “missing idea” necessary to their work. It makes sense that my work resonates with artists. We speak the same language. I understand the artist’s journey. Creatives need create, no matter what, it's in our nature! But this may lead to burnout, anxiety, frustration, and a disconnection from ones basic needs. My understanding of mindfulness, bodywork, and energy healing can assist with rest/recovery AND inspiration/discovery. And over the years, I’ve also realized that “work” doesn’t feel like the right word. When it comes to creatives, there’s something inherently PLAYful at play. If we approach the journey as Play, maybe it’ll come easier than something we “work” for. I recognize there is a need for play, especially for creatives and especially in this current society. So many of us feel bogged down, dimmed, and uninspired because life demands so much effort from us, so much work. Why should your healing journey require more work from you? I can’t think of one single valid reason to give you more work. I know what I offer can provide you with rest AND I want to provide you with play, so your work can continue naturally, without force, without burnout.
