V ickie is a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate of The Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage where she learned the art of Swedish massage and how massage techniques/modalities can help the body return to its natural state of balance with a holistic approach. She also has had 90 hours of training in the Japanese practice of Shiatsu which is based on the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Shiatsu is a form of massage that utilizes the hands, thumbs, or other body parts to apply direct pressure on various points or channels in the body. Shiatsu is practiced on the floor with the client fully clothed and involves no oils or lotions. Vickie also received training in Neuromuscular Therapy (trigger/tender points), Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST), Myofascial Release (MFR), Polarity (Energy work), Muscle energy Techniques (MET) and integrates these modalities into her Swedish massage sessions based on the individuals needs and goals for each session. Vickie most recently completed continuing education to practice CST at a CST1 level from the Upledger Institute, as well as MAT (Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques) as taught by the Freedom From Pain Institute. Vickie plans to continue education in both of these modalities and become certified as she masters each technique. In addition to massage therapy, Vickie is a 200hr certified yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance and a USUI/HOLY FIRE III level II Reiki Practitioner. Vickie is passionate about creating an environment using her gifts in the application of massage, energy, manual therapy bodywork techniques, and alongside her Yoga training, to support every-BODY in meeting each individual's goals for their body. She believes that every-BODY has the innate ability to heal and become balanced when given an environment that best supports their body and is here to support you and your body in achieving your health and wellness goals. In her spare time, you may find Vickie at a local yoga studio, listening to live local musicians, enjoying time in nature or with her family.
