I've been practicing massage therapy since 2020. Massage therapy is an investment in yourself, benefitting physical and emotional health. I am a firm believer in practices such as massage therapy, acupuncture, energy work, chiropractic care, and yoga. I practice and receive these regularly to keep ahead of my health and wellbeing. Physical and emotional health go hand in hand, and massage therapy is proven to keep them hand in hand. I have always wanted to have a career in helping others, and I've found that I am absolutely able to help and heal through massage therapy. I attended Finger Lakes Community College and received an AAS in Therapeutic Massage and Integrated Health Care. I practiced countless hours of hands on training, but also learned an extensive amount of Anatomy & Physiology and Kinesiology & Myology. I learned how muscles move, where they connect to the bone, and how the body works together to create movement, as well as where and how it can create pain, stress or tension. I do not specialize in just one type or technique of massage. In each session, different techniques are used to work towards your discussed goal of your health and wellbeing. Techniques used during a session may include deep tissue massage, myofascial release, stretching, and trigger point therapy. I have further education in pregnancy massage of the 2nd and 3rd trimester and postpartum, and in treating plantar fasciitis. The best part of being a massage therapist is the amount of techniques and continuing education that's available for me to learn to pass my knowledge onto others to help them continue to heal.
