With each massage I try to accomplish two goals; 1. Bring the feeling of freedom and movement back to the body. With daily repetitive motions, daily stress and tension, accident and injury, the body slowly starts to lose its full range of motion. We begin to feel stiff, tense, we tend to favor "the good side" and doing that nothing gets better. I try and break that habit. 2. Create space with the body. Space within the body by releasing and relaxing tension, so we can feel free again, not constricted by pain and tension. Space in the mind and spirit, so we can decompress and let go of the daily tension and stress so we can feel human again. While studying at Crystal Mountain School of Therapeutic Massage in Albuquerque, I fell in love with the movements and style of lomi lomi massage. I try to use the same spirit and intent behind that style in each massage, using a forearm flow, myofascial, gentle deep tissue techniques to create a relaxing deep massage. I believe that deep tissue does not have to be an ordeal but can be a relaxing experience.
