Her experience and expertise make her a wonderful asset to the Albuquerque area for people undergoing plastic surgery recovery. In addition to plastic surgery recovery therapy, she also has post op garments (fajas), foams, and boards available for sale to her clients during their sessions.
Shannon received her Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) training from KLOSE Training, based out of the Boulder, Colorado area. Her Medical Massage and Myofascial Release specialty certifications were earned at the Southwest Institute for Healing Arts in Tempe, AZ. Assisted Lymphatic Training was completed with RightWay Health & Wellness in Canton, Georgia.
It was during her training and Medical Massage that she fell in love with Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) work. To that end, she pursued the respected CLT (Certified Lymphedema Therapist) certification to help people who suffer from lymphedema. The
CLT certification proved to be the ideal advanced training avenue
because it built on the foundations of Oncology Massage, Breast Health
Massage, and adaptive massage for various medical conditions that
constituted the core of her medical massage training. In search of attaining the most advanced credentials in lymphatics, she went on to take the optional LANA (Lymphology Association of North America) exam which put her in the top echelon of lymphatic therapists worldwide.
In
June of 2018 she became certified in Electro-Lymphatic Drainage (also
called "Assisted Lymphatic Drainage") which uses a device called the XP2
that effectively releases stagnated lymph.
"Since becoming a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, I have learned that lymphatic drainage doesn't just apply to people with lymphedema. It can help people who have had surgery, who have Lyme disease, Alzheimer's, surgery, etc. It can also be used to enhance athletic performance and improve how we looking feel through draining a puffy face to providing a powerful detoxifying effect. I welcome all clients who would like to experience Lymphatic Drainage regardless of the reason.
My main objective when working with clients, no matter what brings them to my office, is to have them leave feeling significantly better than when they walked in. Making a difference in the lives of others is the most rewarding thing that I can do." - Shannon Goins-Bla
