How I became a Massage Therapist and how I can help you! I have been massaging for literally longer than I can remember (my Abuela tells me stories of me going around giving back and foot massages whenever we had company), so I became a massage therapist because I have always been one. I love it and can thing of nothing I would rather do! I have dedicated myself to becoming an expert in pain relief and pelvic floor wellness. I use deep, yet gentle techniques to follow your patterns of compensation and unwind the tension to bring you lasting results. Conditions I am specially apt at helping are Low Back Pain Sciatica PMS Symptoms Menopausal Symptoms Pelvic Pain Vaginal Pain Groin Pain Hip Pain Incontinence Migraines Headaches Pain makes sense as a massage focus, but why pelvic dysfunction you ask? At the age of seventeen, I began to suffer from vaginal and pelvic pain (way to start off light, I know). I dealt with that embarrassing discomfort, accepting it an irreversible part of my life, until I was 23 at which point I decided that I deserved better. For the next two years, I went to doctors and psychologists and physical therapists at least once a week every week. Nothing really helped. It wasn't until I incorporated massage and energy work that I began to see results. Today, I am completely pain-free! As I went through this process, I heard more and more stories of women who went through similar ordeals - trying everything to no avail - and realized that I wanted to help those women the same sense of empowerment and control I found when I resolved my pelvic floor dysfunction. Important things to know about me as your therapist: 1) I like puzzles! I like to find the root causes of problems and help you to fix them. Often this means that it is impossible to fix that pain you've had in your shoulder for the past 30 years in one session, but you can count on me to make 2) I want you to get better as fast as possible so you can get back to your world. I want for you to never *have* to come in to see me again. (Though hopefully you'll want to come back for maintenance because you love my massage so much ;-D) So when I recommend a frequency and length for your massage protocol, it's because that's what I assess to be what you need to reach your pain-free/stress-free/whatever-free goals as quickly as you want. 3) I love to hear your feedback! No matter how intuitive my hands are, no matter how well I listen to what your muscles are saying, no one will ever know what you feel better than you. If something feels really good, I want to know so we can keep on that track. If something hurts or doesn't feel good, really let me know so we can try something different. You're not offending me or hurting my feelings; you're helping me give you the massage you need.
