I always get asked how I got into massage. It’s been a part of my life since I was very young, I would massage my mother's sore feet after work. Later on, friends and family would often ask me to massage their shoulders. After high school I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, so I moved to Lincoln and worked for some time before I learned there was a local massage school. I enrolled in the next available class at Myotherapy Institute and graduated in 2011 with an Associate’s Degree in the Applied Science of Massage Therapy. I didn’t get licensed right away. I moved out of Lincoln and spent the next five years in the corporate, non-profit world before my passion for massage was reignited. I chose to pursue a certificate in massage therapy from Colby Community College while working at my full-time job. I graduated in May 2017 and immediately took the licensing exam (MBLEx), passed it and opened up my own massage practice in my home town of Oxford, NE. I learned much in the first few years and my practice started to evolve. I started to feel a need to work with athletes, and looked for continuing education opportunities that focused on this goal. In February 2021, I became certified in SportStretch® and that September I moved back to Lincoln. Utilizing massage along with SportStretch® I am able to help athletes' and those with active lifestyles in their recovery process. Massage and SportStretch® can help with stiffness, range of motion, sore muscles, and muscle fatigue.
