My style of massage can be described as relaxing yet effective. Before each session we talk about how your muscles are feeling that day and what issues (if any) you have been experiencing. Then together we make a plan for your massage to address not just where you are tense or in pain, but also any other muscles that may be contributing to the pain pattern. This way, we can get more to the source. After a few massages, this approach has a good chance to keep the issue away long-term, or at the very least give you more pain-free time in between massages. I may incorporate trigger point therapy, myofascial work, hot stones/towels, scraping therapy (gua sha), cupping therapy, lymphatic work, and any other modality I am trained in, depending what is needed. You can expect some level of pain with this kind of massage for overuse injuries and chronic tension, though I always stay within your comfort range and will check in with you about pressure. I graduated from the Salon Professional Academy in 2017 and continue to add to my massage education through my Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals membership and various continuing education workshops.
