Massage is not just a luxury, for some it is a necessity. I was attracted to this line of work after working in a factory for almost 2 years. I saw everyone around me start going to the onsite massage therapist and physical therapist for wrist pain, some even wore wrist braces to prevent further damage. Then, I had come home to see those around me laying down because their backs had been blown out from work. I saw those around me hurting with no way to cope other than sleeping. I immediately started school at Cortiva School of Massage Therapy, halfway through my program it was announced that the school was to close by that weekend. We all were given the opportunity to finish our education at First Institute in the Massage Therapy Program. I graduated with 792 hours, 42 hours more of education that is still utilize in my practice. I found particular interest in Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, and Hot Stone Massage. I would describe my style as a good mix of Swedish and Deep Tissue, depending on your needs of course. I use smooth, gliding strokes with a good amount of pressure to achieve ultimate relaxation and muscle tension release. I work in my studio out of historic Harvard, IL called Unveil Massage Therapy. My calling was to help people and this career has shown me repeatedly how much people need touch and pain relief.
