Being a trigger point therapist is kind of like being a private investigator, digging for clues to reveal the underlying causes of pain. I will ask my client questions about their symptoms and their daily activities to pick out the prime suspects. I follow that up with a posture analysis and orthepedic testing, and finally compress the muscles to see if the muscle's refer pain pattern is evident. Patients will often mention other issues they don't think are related to their muscles, to which I will usually respond, "there's a trigger point for that!" Trigger point therapy not only relieves pain, but a host of other symptoms. In my practice, in addition to chronic pain, I've successfully treated neuropathy, heart arrhythmia, heartburn, carpal tunnel syndrome, urinary frequency or incontinence, br eathing difficulties, vertigo, head fog, watery eyes, bags under the eyes, bunions, gout, nausea, tinnitus, and bursitis just to name a few. So don't hold back, you might be pleasantly surprised to find there's a trigger point solution to more than just your pain!
