Hi, I’m Ruth McDonald, a licensed massage therapist (LMT), certified lymphedema therapist (CLT), and specialist in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and therapeutic massage. If you’re here, chances are you’re looking for relief — from swelling, pain, stress, or maybe just the feeling of being disconnected from your body. I get it. My work is rooted in my own healing journey, and I know how important it is to feel comfortable and supported when you’re trying to heal.
After navigating surgical recovery, autoimmune issues, and long COVID, I discovered how transformative holistic therapies could be — not just for my body, but for my sense of wellbeing and spirit. I also experienced firsthand how these therapies helped me manage the effects of PTSD, anxiety, and stress. That experience gave me a deep understanding of how the body holds tension and trauma — and how powerful these modalities can be in helping you feel more balanced, grounded, and at ease. That’s why I’m so passionate about creating a space where you feel safe and supported on your own healing journey.
With the love and support of my husband and children, I took a leap of faith, enrolled in massage therapy school, and never looked back. Since then, I’ve pursued advanced training to provide the highest level of care for the women I work with. In addition to certifications in MLD and CLT, I’ve completed specialized training in trauma-informed care, pre- and post-surgical recovery, and oncology support. I’m also trained in Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) and Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies — powerful tools that help calm the nervous system and promote deeper healing. My expertise in Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) means I can help you maintain long-term results and feel more in control of your health.
At The Gentle Peach, my goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and truly cared for. I know that healing isn’t just about physical recovery — it’s about feeling like yourself again. Every session is tailored to your body’s needs, blending science-backed techniques with compassionate care.
