Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist
TMJ Massage Specialist ~ Offering Cutting Edge Healing Experiences ~ David G. Simons, M.D. once mentioned, "Muscle is an orphan organ. No medical specialty claims it. As a result, no medical specialty is concerned with promoting funded research into the muscular causes of pain, and medical students and physical therapists rarely receive adequate primary training in how to recognize and treat myofascial trigger points." Awareness towards this muscles/fascial/whole-body connection has been on the rise. Yet, finding that practitioner who can effectively and reliably work with these myofascial trigger points is still no easy task. "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." Knowing the options in how to to address the physical trigger points, I am moving away from being that primary therapeutic touch provider (for most clients) as my focus has now shifted to educating and providing information. (For those needing physical support, referrals to acupuncturists/bodyworkers will be happily made.) If you are seeking support in this area, for example if the questions you are asking include "What are some of the cause that lead to the fascia and muscle tensing up?" "How are these trigger points being generated in the first place?" "What can we do to remove them, but also to prevent them from forming?" One suggestion I have for you is to ask and explore "What is causing the blockages in the meridians?" I understand this can be a jump for many especially if you are not on the West Coast or have not had much exposure to Asian or traditional cultures. However, these approaches have been practiced and documented for thousands of years. From my personal experience, this awareness can powerfully lead to healing on various levels . "Future medicine will be based on controlled energy fields."
