I decided to become an Energy Healer and Massage Therapist simply because I wanted to spend my time helping people heal. That is, to help others realize that suffering, fear, anxiety, and stress are not our natural state. Instead, the body, mind and spirit are designed to be in a state of balance, health, peace and wellbeing. I believe we are fundamentally healthy, complete and adequate. Massage Therapy, Bodywork and Energy Healing are a few of the many avenues to return to this place of harmony. I began my own healing journey early in life. As a teenager I had a profound experience while reading a story of the life of the Buddha – a human being who achieves enlightenment. I knew on a deep level after reading this story that we are all deeply connected and meant to have profound peace and wellbeing in our lives. I began studying and utilizing holistic remedies in my late teens and early twenties. Over the years, through regular massage therapy, energy healing and meditation my wellbeing increased. I know firsthand that consistent use of these modalities brings health and peace of mind. After college and working as an editor and writer for many years, I went on to study Massage Therapy, Polarity Therapy and RYSE at Spa Tech Institute in Ipswich, Mass., under the direction of Nancy Risley , creator of RYSE - Realizing Your Sublime Energies. I'm a Connecticut State Licensed Massage Therapist, a Board Certified Polarity Practitioner and a RYSE 3 Practitioner. I'm nationally certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and the American Polarity Therapy Association. Along with formal energy healing and massage therapy training, I've been meditating regularly since 1997 spending two of those years meditating and studying full-time at Gampo Abbey, a Buddhist monastery in Nova Scotia, Canada. While at the Abbey, I attended and graduated from Shedra , a traditional Buddhist university focusing on philosophy, contemplation and meditation. Some of my teachers include Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche , Pema Chodron , Thrangu Rinpoche and Khandro Rinpoche .
