It is an honor and a privilege to be joining Simona Campos LMT at Mon Ami Salt Cave and Spa! We met earlier in our careers while providing holistic therapy at a hot springs wellness spa back in 2000. Since that time we both have taken many courses on complementary modalities to promote health and reduce stress. We have worked in a variety of settings and have chosen to offer the best services we have experienced and practiced over the years to support you in your health goals.
I recently celebrated my 27th year as a massage therapist and have been looking back over my career and remembering all the amazing clients I’ve worked with. It all started with me wanting to know more about holistic practices that could help me with injuries I sustained in a car accident that left me with chronic pain and headaches. A coworker suggested that I see her chiropractor because he had helped her with the same problems. After a couple of months of adjustments, massage and other therapies, my headaches and pain were gone.
I decided to learn more and began researching everything I could about complementary therapies. I worked for the airlines at the time, which was physically demanding and stressful work, and began offering massages to my coworkers who were experiencing tight necks and shoulders. Soon after, I enrolled at The Center for Advanced Therapeutics in Denver and completed my schooling in December 1997.
I began my new career working with the Denver chiropractor who had helped me with my injuries from the car accident, and he along with two other chiropractors sharing the same office referred all their clients to me. I developed great rehabilitation skills by coordinating treatments with the chiropractors that successfully met our patients' recovery goals.
After 3 years I relocated to Reno, Nevada, where I set up a home office for massage and also performed house calls for clients who were disabled or had issues with chronic pain. I also worked at a hot springs on the weekends!
I relocated to Florida where I studied for and received my national certification in 2003. I then began work at a 5-star resort on the beach in Tampa Bay where I resided for several years.
I returned to Colorado and moved to Aspen where I worked at a 5-star resort at the base of Aspen Mountain. While there I worked on several celebrities, musicians, billionaires, professional athletes and family members of two US presidents.
I’m now back on the Front Range of Colorado working with one of my best therapist friends from my time in Reno. We have a unique collaboration of skills at the Mon Ami Salt Cave and Spa. Simona has created a quiet, peaceful space that is comfortable and nurturing without the chaos of some other types of massage establishments.
I have learned so much on this incredible journey. One of my teachers once told me, "treat all your clients like they are your teachers, that’s the best education you will ever have." And so I always ask, “What does this beautiful person have to teach me today? And how can I support them best?”
So I invite you to slow down, kick off your shoes, and breathe that stress away! Everything we do at Mon Ami spa is designed to reduce stress and put your body and mind into a relaxed state where it can actually heal itself. I am your relaxation facilitator!
We all have an innate healing system in our bodies that knows exactly how to heal us. This is the same system that heals scraped knees and repairs broken bones. It has been with you all of your life. Let’s tap into it, you deserve to be well!
