Hello and welcome! I have 13 years of experience as a Master Bodyworker, specializing in Injury Recovery and Structural Integration, currently working with Chiropractor, Dr. Brent Graves, DC and Physical Therapist, Joy Goin. We work together to help you heal and feel your best! I have my 200-hr Yoga Teacher Certificate and combine yoga into my Structural Integration sessions and am happy to teach Private Yoga classes. My philosophy is that pain and tightness are caused by the fascia, connective tissue, and muscles not sliding over each other properly, this is where feeling “tight” comes from and causes pain. This can be caused by injury (whether voluntary through surgery or involuntary through accident), poor posture (slouching, sway back, head jutting forward, etc), repetitive motion/movement strain (doing the same movement over and over at work or leisure), or lack of movement (sedentary lifestyle or sitting long hours at a desk). When this happens, the tissues (skin, fascia, and muscle) get stuck, matted, and adhesions are created between the layers, decreasing the ability of these tissues to slide over each other. This causes pain and tightness and can lead to further compensations, poor posture and movement patterns. Massage Therapy, Injury/Surgery Recovery Therapy, Structural Integration, Advanced Myofascial Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, and movement through stretching, yoga, and exercise can help improve these tissues’ ability to glide and flow over one another, therefore decreasing pain and tightness, restoring proper movement patterns and improving posture. My goal in every session is to improve the glide of these tissues over one another through the different techniques listed above. Thank you for visiting my booking site, I hope to see you really soon!
