I have been working in the field of Massage and Physical Therapy since 2006. Following a snowboarding accident that led to a shoulder surgery, I had my first experience with receiving therapeutic massage. I found it helped significantly with releasing scar tissue and improving hypersensitivity in my shoulder. I began my career as a Massage Therapist in private practice renting a space connected to a Physical Therapy Clinic. I enjoyed it so much and had such a strong desire to learn more that I soon went back for more schooling and received my Associates degree studying Physical Therapy. I have worked as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in multiple settings including manual therapy focused outpatient clinics, skilled nursing, and home health. I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of clients assisting with improving a wide variety of medical conditions. In the early stages of my career working in Skilled nursing I had frequent bouts of lower back pain from the demands of the job. On occasion I even had difficulty fully standing or walking upright due to muscle spasms. I have done much self-exploration of various movement, stretching, and muscle activation techniques and have drastically improved the health of my lower back. I have pursued continued improvement in my knowledge by taking part in many massage and manual therapy training courses, completing a 200 hour yoga teacher training program, and by using self exploration in my own sport and movement practice. My main influences are Myofascial Release, Structural Bodywork, Neuromuscular Re-education, Deep Tissue, and Iyengar-style yoga practice. I have been happily married for 12 years and have two amazing sons. I enjoy the freedom that having my own private practice brings for spending more time with my wife and children, including the ability to drop my younger son off and pick him up after school, and take time off to spend with them during their school holidays and breaks.
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
