Mickey is a premium provider of intuitive bodywork. His mission is to help individuals be more posturally aligned, feel pain free, and be more confident in their movements to have a better quality of life. Q: What do you do? A: I specialize in integrated and intuitive bodywork; meaning, I combine manual muscle techniques across various disciplines to create my own treatment approach along with trusting my intuitive sense guiding the work. Often times people will ask what it is that I do exactly, but even after explanation it isn't until they feel or experience a session that they finally understand. Because I am results driven, my goal is to work effectively to fix pain points and if needed, review self care techniques that can be done for maintenance. Q: Do you only work with athletes? A: I work with anyone, not just athletes. To date, I've worked with people of all ages and backgrounds from Hollywood film and television professionals, celebrities, professional athletes, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, costume designers, stylists, bakers, dentists, makeup and hair artists, tattoo artists, estheticians, and everyone in between. Anyone struggling with pain, posture, and movement issues who are looking for a solution, I'm here to help. Q: How did you get into bodywork therapy? A: Prior to becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist, I practiced as a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in Oklahoma for 6 years where I had the opportunity to be mentored under the guidance of Occupational Therapist Roger Williams, "The carpal tunnel expert." Roger specializes in orthopedic manual therapy and has developed a unique methodology to deliver the best results for his patients. In 2011 he intuitively discovered my gifted ability to help others through manual therapy. One day he asked me to work on one of his patients for an hour and that he would come back to check my work. I felt so clueless and although I had no training at that time, he said "Without any training, you've just corrected 75% of her issues." Roger asked, "What did you do?" I replied, "I'm not sure, I just worked on the areas I felt needed work." He replied, "That's exactly it. You have the ability to know what you are doing without knowing what you are doing. You're intuitive. I have been a therapist since 1984 and of all the therapists and students I have trained, you are only the second person I've met who has this natural ability. Now it's up to you what you want to do with it." Unsure of what this direction would have for my life, I decided to walk down this path. The truth is, if it wasn't for Roger discovering my ability and mentoring me in the beginning, I would not be a bodyworker today. Q: What brought you from Oklahoma to Los Angeles? A: It's a long story but in brief, on July 25, 2019, I treated a film producer from Los Angeles at my Tulsa, Oklahoma location. Three months later, I jumped on a plane and showed up in West Hollywood. I saw my first two clients. The referrals grew so quickly and the rest is history.
