Hello! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me as a therapist. I like to take a scientific, yet intuitive approach to my massage sessions. Each person is unique, and will benefit most from individualized bodywork. This is why I prefer to look at how the structures of my clients' bodies integrate to create imbalances that may be addressed in our sessions. I practice using connective tissue techniques that not only work with the musculoskeletal system but also tendons and ligaments, and layers of fascia. Understanding trigger points as well as structural integration helps me to identify, target and treat specific muscle(s) and muscle groups that may be indicated in my clients' symptoms. That is why I became a massage therapist - so that I may provide highly effective and specific therapeutic treatments to benefit my clients deeply and holistically. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and graduated Summa Cum Laude with experience working in many research labs at the University of Oregon. The mind-body connection has always intrigued me, along with my keen interest in understanding the many ways in which natural, minimally-invasive approaches help people find relief from pain and ultimate healing. This path eventually led me to the study of bodywork. After graduating college I decided to further my career in massage therapy. I have personally benefited from the many therapeutic effects of massage and deeply value the power of this healing art. I am a very active person who has experienced several major injuries throughout my life that left me with pain, reduced range of motion and lessened physical ability. With massage as a powerful tool, I became an engaged participant in my own healing and rehabilitation. Since experiencing the immense benefits of massage first-hand, I personally have a strong passion for this practice. As a science nerd, the anatomy of the body fascinates me and I am always taking time to learn more - I truly want to be an amazing massage therapist for all of my clients! I strongly believe in the capacity for each of us to heal ourselves and dedicate myself to holding space for your healing. Whether it's a trigger point in your shoulder, or an achy lower back or hips... Maybe you have headaches or old injuries or traumas... Perhaps your stress is high and you could use some deep relaxation and nervous system balancing... Whatever your needs are, I am here for you. I commit myself to remaining compassionately open and receptive to my clients. I deeply value the therapeutic relationship and invite you to take an active role in your treatment plan. Communication is key and I am always open to discussing any questions you may have about me, my practice, or your experience. Feel free to reach out if any of this resonates with what you are looking for in a massage. If so, I look forward to meeting you!
