Massage Therapy has been my passion since completing my certification in 2001. Shortly thereafter I began my studies at university in Sitka, Alaska where I obtained my B.S. in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Marine Biology. After falling in love with the breathtaking landscapes of The Last Frontier, Alaska became my permanent home. My career path led me to working as a License Massage Therapist and Certified Cupping Practitioner in various professional chiropractic offices throughout the state. I have been working 15 plus years in the Massage industry. I am certified in Medical Massage, Contemporary Cupping, Advanced Cupping, and Neuromuscular Cupping. I have taken courses in Scar tissue Cupping, Lymphatic drainage Cupping, TMJ Cupping, Spa cupping (facial cupping, sinus treatment, Face Rejuvenation, & Cellulite Protocols) and Cuppasana (the combination of Yin Yoga and Cupping). Prenatal Massage, and Advanced Myofascial Release Techniques. My daily practice of yoga and just one cupping therapy session started my recovery process after sustaining a severe lower back injury. Much to my surprise the miraculous healing benefits of these ancient disciplines were immediately improving mobility while easing my pain. My practice quickly evolved with the incorporation of other modalities such as meditation, positive affirmations, and focused energy work. Harnessing the power of these healing artforms has significantly decreased my anxiety, eliminated a majority of my back pain, and has awakened my new positive mindset. With the rise of making mental health a priority, I was truly inspired to broaden my professional development which led me to pursue a Yoga Teacher Certification to share these life changing tools to the community of Ketchikan. I completed my 200 hr YTT in April 2021. I am certified in Hatha, Yin, Restorative, and Vinyasa. I have taken other trainings in yoga Nidra, Therapeutics, Injury Management, Fascial Focused Sequences, and Qigong infused yoga. I currently hold a 500 hr CYT and I am currently enrolled in a Qigong certification course! In addition to Yoga, Qigong, and Massage Therapy my passions include outdoor activities. You’ll find me out in nature hiking, kayaking, and soaking up as much sun as possible! I am excited to be part of your journey as you transform your body, mind, and spirit back into balance. I see and honor the light in you! Nameste, SarahLyn McConahay
