Tranquility Island offers customized pain relief cupping massage therapy. We specialize in relieving fibromyalgia, migraine, headache, sports injury, back, hip, knee, shoulder, and neck pain, as well as prenatal massage. We also offer relaxation massage for those who prefer light, comforting massage without cupping.
Our specialty is hunting down knots and smoothing them out of muscle and connective tissue with a mix of cupping and manual massage therapy, which may include deep tissue work or lighter pressure, myofascial release, gua sha (scraping), reflexology ball work on hands and/or feet, and jade rollers on scalp, face, and jaw. We do ask for feedback on pressure level and tools so that the massage is tailored to your specific needs and comfort level.
Cupping Massage
If you haven't tried cupping therapy yet you are missing out on one of the best pain-relieving, tension-reducing experiences ever!Cupping doesn't hurt. In fact most recipients find it more comfortable than thumb pressure. Cupping uses suction, which produces a gentle negative pressure instead of the positive pressure when your therapist presses down on your tissue. Cupping helps with pain, inflammation, muscle tension, flushing toxins from the cells into the lymphatic system, speeding recovery, improving blood flow, and it can even reduce cellulite!
Clients have been enthusiastic.Many clients report the cupping feels "miraculous" or "magical" for inflammation and pain relief.
The only downside to cupping is the possible cup marks, which are basically like hickey marks, but in a perfect circle. Our goal is to apply only enough pressure to gently release the tension in the area being treated without marking, if possible. Nonetheless, everyone's body reacts differently. Marks generally disappear within 1 to 4 days. For a few with usual conditions or factors (i.e. inflammatory conditions, very easy brusing), marks could possibly last 7-14 days.
At Tranquility Island, we use safe, soft silicone cups--never wet cupping or fire, so there is no need for concern; however there are a few medical conditions, such as metastasized cancer, that preclude cupping or require limited use, so be sure and keep your therapist up to date on any medical changes.

Cancellation Policy
Please be aware we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. We do charge the full amount for no shows and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. Please consider that we have clients waiting for openings and must give them enough time to rearrange their schedules.
