Myofascial Release Infused with a Compassionate Touch
Discover the Power of Myofascial Release
MFR is a hands on technique that targets the fascia, a thin layer of connective tissue that surrounds and supports your muscles, bones, and organs. The fascia is a three-dimensional web of connective tissue that runs throughout the body surrounding and intertwining with muscles, bones, blood vessels, organs, and nerves. It is a continuous and uninterrupted network that provides support and structure to the entire body.
When subjected to prolonged stress, trauma or repetitive movements, fascia can become tight, restricted, or adhered leading to pain, stiffness and decreased range of motion.
During a MFR session we use sustained pressure and stretching techniques to release tension and restore flexibility to the fascia.
MFR Addresses the Following
- Neck and Back Pain
- Headaches/Migraines
- Sports Injuries
- Sciatica
- Chronic Pain
- Fibromyalgia
- TMJ- Temporal Mandibular Joint Disorder
- Mobilization
- And more
And who is Stephen?
Stephen is a massage therapist with 30 years of practice and started studying MFR 8 years ago. Stephen was a Buddhist monk for 14 years and has completed a traditional 3 year meditation retreat. This background and training allows him to be fully present with his clients during MFR sessions tuning into subtle cues from their bodies and intuitively sensing ares of tightness and restriction. An informed compassionate approach creates a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore and release physical and emotional tensions stored within the body. Each session is approached with an open mind and without preconceived notions, meeting clients where they are in their healing journey and facilitating a non judgmental space for exploration and release.
