Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy is an “OnPoint” Massage that targets trigger points and releases them.
It is a technique that was developed by Drs. Janet Travell & David Simons in the 1950s and 1960s.
Drs. Janet Travell & David Simons (1993) described a trigger point as, "A highly irritable localized spot of exquisite tenderness in a nodule in a palpable taut band of (skeletal) muscle."
*****************************************************************
These highly irritable localized spots can range in size, from a tiny pellet, to a pea or even a large lump. They can be felt, embedded within the muscle fibres, by therapists who have developed a keen sense of touch. When active trigger points are palpated, they produce pain and the usual ‘jump sign.’ If they
are tender to pressure they may well be 'trigger points'. Pain or symptoms may be directly due to active trigger points, or pain may 'build up' over time from latent or inactive trigger points.

After you schedule, you will receive an email with your Intake Forms that will help me to prepare for appointment. Please take the time to *fill this out before you arrive* and then we can skip the questions and have more time to focus on you.

When you come to OnPoint Massage, your appointment will begin with an assessment of your Symptoms and areas of Pain Referral, Postural assessment and Range of Motion. The Trigger Point Massage will then take you to a deep state of relaxation with focus on thoroughly releasing 2-3 main target areas. Every treatment is individualized to meet the needs of the client.

Trigger Point Therapy and Massage in general will result in metabolic waste and toxins being released into the blood stream. It is very important to drink plenty of water after your massage. ***
