The place to go for full-service, experienced, knowledgeable, personable therapeutic Bodywork!
Imagine my surprise as a student in Massage School when I was told "massage therapists don't fix people." But that is what I was there to learn! I was told that we "facilitate healing." Maybe I'm hard-headed and maybe I just believe what prior clients have shared - but I still like to think I fix people! ♥
I am a personable therapist. I like to take my time. I don't believe in quick intros followed by getting undressed and having a total stranger work on your body. I believe in thorough health intakes upon meeting, and making sure I'm clear on your goal for service and we are of like-mind before I put my hands on you.
Many of my clients pick my health coach brain while on the table. I often hear the following, "Anna, what should I eat for ________ condition?" I share ALL of my knowledge freely. Sometimes, if you are leading a lifestyle that is going to make you prone to inflammation, you need to know it's something you're doing yourself, and not place blame on a 'bad' chiropractor, or massage therapist, or fault.
I use a methodical approach to bodywork. This can take time. As an example, should you state you have upper back/neck pain, I know without even touching you that I will be looking at a bare minimum of 34 muscles. Booking your appt. with me may be different than with other practitioners - which is why I only offer 90 minute therapeutic massages. This way, serious attention can be paid to your problem area, with good time available to do justice to the remainder of your body, if desired, utilizing a VARIETY of modalites.
Lastly, I appreciate my clients knowing the difference between deep TISSUE and deep PRESSURE. The two are not necessarily the same. You can surely achieve deep tissue work through deep pressure, but, you do not necessarily need to feel like I'm going through your body to the floor to also achieve deep tissue work. Communication on preferences is key, but you do not need to be HURT by your therapist to achieve therapeutic benefit! I promise.
