Move better, Play Harder!
About Muscle Activation Reno
(formerly Reno Orthopedic Massage)
Muscle Activation Reno is a Reno-based clinical practice focused on Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT)—a precise, assessment-driven method for restoring muscular function, joint stability, and efficient movement.
MAT identifies muscles that are not contracting efficiently and restores their ability to function properly. When muscles do their job, joint mechanics improve, compensation patterns decrease, and the body moves with greater ease and control. Rather than chasing pain or symptoms, MAT addresses the underlying mechanical causes that contribute to stress, inflammation, and dysfunction.
What Makes MAT Different
Every session begins with a functional movement and muscle assessment to identify where the body is most biomechanically compromised—often not where discomfort is felt. Treatment is highly individualized and focused on restoring proper muscle activation and control.
This is not a massage practice. While manual techniques may be used when appropriate, care is centered on assessment, muscle testing, activation, and retesting to confirm measurable improvements in function.
