Hi, I’m Christiana! I own and operate Dharma Anatomy, LLC located in North Iowa. I was first introduced to massage as a young girl, massaging my abuela’s diabetic feet and my mom’s migrained forehead. The early moments in life instilled not only a love and care for family, but also a dedication to healthy touch and healing. In 2014, I decided to turn my love of helping people into a career and began attending Riverland Community College (Austin, MN) in preparation for the Massage Therapy Program.
Massage school was the best, most challenging, most rewarding, and most awakening experience of my entire life. By choosing to listen to my gut, this put me on an entirely new path in life-- and also affirmed what I’m meant to do in this lifetime.
Since graduating massage school in 2016, I moved to Iowa and received my license to practice here. Within a few months after graduating, I stumbled upon Thai Yoga Bodywork (also known as Nuad Boran or simply Thai Massage), and this refined the direction I wanted my massage career to take. I have completed 8 courses in total. These include the required level 1-5 for graduating the Devanadi School of Yoga and Wellness program. My most recent class was with Bob Haddad (founder of Thai Healing Alliance International) in August of 2019.
My studies into this amazing modality also include a two-week trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand in November 2018 to study with Master Pichest Boonthumme. After three entire years of immersing myself in the studies, practices, and lifestyle of Thai Yoga Bodywork, I am more certain than ever that this is what I want to share with my family, clients, fellow massage therapists, and community.
I also practice other massage modalities learned while in school. These include: hot stones, trigger point therapy, comfort touch, traditional glass cupping, prenatal and pregnancy, full body relaxation, Basic Western Swedish Massage, reflexology, infant and child, and aromatherapy. As my practice strengthens and deepens (thanks to Thai Yoga Bodywork), I am finding that sessions are becoming more integrated and intuitive. This means you may experience more than one modality per one session to better tailor your time and to fit your unique, personal needs. No two sessions are the same; though you may have similar issues that bring you in, we take various approaches until we find just the right combination that works for you and your body.
In 2018, I began working with NIACC (North Iowa Area Community College) in offering community education classes. Last year, I offered a Partner Massage class and also Make A Gemstone Necklace class. This year, I am excited to announce a Thai Date Night class and a Do It Yourself Crystal Horoscope bag! Thai Date Night includes beginner instruction (and practice) of Thai Massage for couples. Attendees will also take home delicious, fresh-prepared and authentic Thai food to wrap up! The Crystal Horoscope class is about learning which crystals work best with your Western astrology Sun sign (ie: Gemini, Taurus, Aries, etc)— and you get to choose three stones to take home with you.
Due to my By Appointment Only set-up, I book far in advance for massage sessions. With online scheduling, I am hoping to make things as easy and simple as possible for everybody involved. This means when booking online, you’ll be in charge of your massage schedule and can change/add appointments (within proper cancellation notice, as stated in the intake form) as needed.
I thoroughly enjoy working in my community and learning as much as I can to be the best massage therapist that I can. I look forward to this new chapter in my massage therapist journey, and I am so excited to include all of my wonderful clients in this experience!
