Tejase Bodyworks
Tejase (tay-juh-say) is a Sanskrit word alluding to a spiritual light or illumination that exists eternally and is often used to mean unto the powerful. Tejas from the root word TEJ (to guard, heat, defend or protect) represents the transformation that happens when you go through the heat of practice and become the light of the fire.
Within each of us is a light that is always present and ready to shine, yet
sometimes it seems to be hiding behind a cloud of pain and dysfunction.
Physical or emotional pain alerts us that there is an imbalance that needs to
be addressed; self-care practices, like massage and yoga, are effective ways to
bring the body, mind, and spirit into greater harmony. When we become
curious and learn to listen to the messages of the body we may recognize
patterns that contribute to dis-ease and
discover what supports our healing and greater well-being.
Many times, pain arises from postural misalignment, muscular tension, and
chronic stress. This can contribute to achiness, stiffness, reduced range of
motion, headaches, numbness, tingling, fatigue and decreased quality of life.
Massage and yoga helps manage pain, relieve stress, enhance self-regulation, improves
circulation and lymphatic flow, and cultivates a vibrant body and mind.
Massage involves manipulation of the soft tissues, using various pressures and techniques, to release muscular tension, trigger points and fascial adhesions.
Yoga guides you into optimal alignment by strengthening and lengthening the muscles, cultivating a healthy breath, and encouraging greater awareness of our attitudes and actions as we move throughout the day.
Tejase Bodyworks is guided by the principle “there's no greater purpose than service to others” and I would love to assist you as you are empowered to take responsibility for your health and your wholeness.
