Recently relocated to Montpelier, Vermont, Lori Koblin received her massage training at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Oregon. She holds a Massage License in Oregon and has completed over 800 hours of massage training in Deep Tissue, Swedish, Prenatal, Myofascial Release, and Shiatsu with additional Advanced CranioSacral Training through the Upledger Institute. Lori first experienced the profound healing effects of massage and bodywork at a young age having suffered numerous injuries during her career as a professional equestrian. Receiving massage on a regular basis helped her to keep working through different physical setbacks and also increased her body awareness and improved her ability to ride and train effectively. This awareness translated into an interest in body mechanics which helped her and her students be more balanced riders, as she gained the understanding that many horses she worked with had limitations rooted in physical and emotional stress that could be alleviated with bodywork. The birth of her two children accelerated her interest in holistic modalities. After moving to Portland, Oregon in 2013 she had the opportunity to work with a QiGong master and also finish her Reiki Master Training with Frans Steine at the International House of Reiki. Lori volunteered with the Shelter Animal Reiki Association in Portland, Oregon offering Reiki to shelter animals as well as oncology patients with the Northwest Reiki Association. To continue her learning she completed certification as an Equine Bodyworker and Equine Myofascial Release Practitioner, studying at Equinology in Petaluma, California. She has been practicing Equine Bodywork since 2016 with certification in both sports massage and Equine Myofascial Release. Overall, she has found that horses have been amazing bodywork teachers and have guided her to her work with people. Lori loves helping her massage clients achieve results. Her massage style incorporates Swedish Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Shiatsu, and Myofascial Release. Her sessions are client centered with the intention of creating a healing space to restore balance and unity in the body. Whether you are seeking relaxation and stress relief or have injury or trauma you would like to address, Lori is happy to work with you to come up with a plan to help you get the results you are looking for.
