I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, I attended Mind Body Institute for 9 months and graduated in May, 2019. I have been a registered nurse for 30+ years. I love being a patient advocate and helping people get better. I chose Massage therapy as a second career, to continue helping people maintain a healthy lifestyle, improve on what they are doing to be healthy, "kind of kickin' it up a notch".
For those who are suffering from pain, we are here for you. Pain can be acute or chronic, either way, it can be managed with lifestyle adjustments and adjunct therapies, like Massage.
The simplest approach to feeling better and living better is Self Care.
- Self care is taking time to take care of yourself, knowing when to slow down, getting enough sleep and knowing how to rest.
- Eating your favorite healthy foods. Taking proper meal times, even having snacks when your body needs them.
- Drinking enough water so that your body has the proper hydration it needs to keep you active, alert and ready for what your day brings!
- Self care is learning to decompress (giving your brain a break) during your work days, or after work.
- Being mindful of your posture and how you can improve those areas that hold tension..
Regular Massage is a fundamental part of self care. It can reduce stress, anxiety, relax your mind, elevate your mood, provide pain relief, enhance fitness practice and be preventative for musculoskeletal injuries by lengthening muscles that have become shortened from bad posture.
Many of us take care of others all of the time, yet we fail to take care of ourselves. When we learn the magic of taking care of ourselves, we increase our energy and have the emotional strength to do for others, as well as, reach our personal goals.
