LowCountry Wellness Center is an orthopaedic massage rehabilitation and laser/electrical acupuncture Center focusing on creating a healing environment for those in need of physical, mental and emotional therapies. Located on 6 acres we are located within Edenhope Farms. Which offers fresh free range eggs daily to clients as well as a tranquil environment for healing. I like to let my clients know they are in good hands. Here are some details regarding my educational background.
I received my Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training at the University of Georgia Educational System. Then I followed up at Georgia State with my Therapy degree. My "first career" was as a Hippotherapist, using physical therapy and the horses movements to facilitate change in special populations. Since then, I have worked with the New York Giants, the Molson Beach Volleyball Team, before beginning my rehabilitative therapy clinic as Cyndi Allison here in Beaufort, in 1990. At that time, I opened Hands on Healing. In 1993, I saw a need for more trained therapist in the area and opened the Southeastern School for Holistic Touch. I married and my last name became Allison-Crowley, I ran my practices and taught for 5 years. Changing the name of my practice to LowCountry Wellness Center to incorporate both offices. After the birth of my two children, Trey and Allison, I decided to focus on my practice and family. In 2007, I changed my name to Cynthia Allison. My children and I attend the Parish Church of St. Helena, where I am on the Vestry for Mission and Outreach and in charge of Parish Church Women. We live on 6 acres which is named Edenhope Farms. Five years ago, we started raising free range chickens and since then have added Zebu cattle, goats, ducks and peacocks. We sell our eggs, mainly to my patients, and we enjoy the fruits of their labor as well.
Certifications include: Nationally Certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage, Licensed by the state of South Carolina, and Internationally Certified by the International Massage & Somatic Therapy Council (IMSTCC) and Certified by the national athletic trainers association. Memberships include the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals group, American Massage Therapy Association, and the National Christian Massage Therapist Association. My massage credentials were earned at the Atlanta School of Massage.
Due to yearly continuing education requirements and a strong desire to always be learning, I have become certified in numerous specialties of which you can read about on my website, www.lowcountrywellnesscenter.com. I am current in my certification and licensing requirements.
