Get to know your therapist: Rain Zahn (they/them) LMT/ Reiki Master/ Owner License# MSG014480 Rain (they/them) is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania, Gendai Reiki Master, and owner of Rain Massage and Bodywork. Rain received their massage training from the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy where they were trained in many modalities. I ncluding, but not limited to, Swedish massage, Myofascial release, Neuromuscular (trigger point) therapy, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and Chair massage. As well as thorough education in Anatomy and Physiology. Rain has also received training in Hot Stone, Cupping, and Abhyanga (Ayurvedic) massage, Chakra Balancing, and Reiki. Rain is mindful of catering every massage to the specific needs of each client. Their compassionate and person-centered approach means no two massages are the same. We all come to the table with unique life experiences, pains, anxieties, traumas and perspectives. All of which inform what we need in a bodywork setting. Rain pulls on all the skills they have acquired, on and off the table, to bring the greatest level of care to each of their clients, with the goal of calming our often “fight or flight” activated nervous systems. Rain’s massage style would best be described as “therapeutic relaxation” to reflect the deeply calming yet therapeutic nature of their work. Rain’s passion lies in working with folks who have felt unsafe to exist within their own bodies. They strive to provide a space for people of marginalized communities to feel safe in a bodywork setting. Rain understands how being in our bodies can be scary and re-traumatizing, at times. Rain’s hope is that their clients feel a little more at home within themselves by the end of their session. They strive to be an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community (including those going through transition), BIPOC, and people with disabilities. They strive to be a safe space for these communities as well as those who have experienced trauma and abuse, current or previous history of eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. Additionally, Rain is a fervent supporter of the body neutrality, body positivity, and fat acceptance movements.
