I first became interested in massage as a photographer. I was branching out into Wedding and Boudoir photography, and a lot of my clients would reference they would need a massage after their sessions. I began to think outside the box about how I can not only show my clients their true authentic self but feel their worth too. I thought massage was a great idea! I decided to enroll into massage school and started my journey at Cortiva in 2018. Halfway through school my program shut down and I was devastated. I was offered another option to stay connected in this career. I ended up graduating at HACC (Harrisburg Community College) and completed the massage program in 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic! I thought to myself nothing is going to stop me from this new passion of mine. In school, I stumbled across a whole new meaning to massage. Massage isn’t just about being luxurious or a treat. It’s about balance and connecting within ourselves. I began to understand how important touch was to our bodies for our mental, emotional, and physical health of our overall well-being. There, I truly started to understand how everything is all connected. When one thing is out of whack or off balance, it can cause the downward spiral of imbalances in our body's structure. Since school, I have gained working hands on knowledge in Swedish, Connective tissue/Fascial massage, Trigger Point, Deep tissue, and Pregnancy massage. I have expanded my learning through continuing education classes that focused around my clients as best that I can. My work really falls between having a safe space for each client to be able to unwind and become vulnerable to be able to let go mentally, emotionally, and physically. I have taken Orthopedic Massage, Cupping, Gua Sha, and Pregnancy Massage to help grow my skill sets and will continue to do so for the future. I've been working in the field for 5 years and I have learned so much that school just can't teach you. Each person is very different when it comes to their body. Which is why my sessions are always client centered and focused for the client specifically. Massage therapy has shown me how amazing our bodies can be at healing themselves when given the time and energy to do so. When we listen and begin to trust the process of therapeutically restoring our well-being with touch, not just physically releasing tension, but emotionally. Mentally releasing stress can help assist the healing process of our mind, body, and soul. My goal is always to let you leave feeling regenerated, wholesome, and mindful of your body. One small change may lead to a ripple effect to a big difference!
