I am a Licensed Massage Therapist *PA MSG002356*, Certified Fertility, Prenatal, Postpartum & Labor Massage Specialist, Birth Doula, Reiki Master, Craniosacral Therapist and Mama. After graduating from Penn Hills High School, I attended Career Training Academy in Monroeville for Massage Therapy. I graduated from CTA in the spring of 2000. During my time at CTA I was introduced to Prenatal massage and fell in Love! Since that time, I have read every Pregnancy related book I could get my hands on. I have also attended many workshops for Prenatal and Postpartum Massage, one being MotherMassage a Prenatal, Labor, and Postpartum Massage Specialist program with Elaine Stillerman. I also have training and experience as a birth doula through ALACE(now toLabor). During my time at The Pittsburgh Center for Complementary Health and Healing, I was very fortunate to have had a creative voice that was heard by owner, Nikki Remic. After months of hard work and love, I gave birth to my baby The Prenatal and Postpartum Specialty Menu. A beautiful array of services that nurture and balance the Mama to be. I have carried these special services with me and continue to provide them with love & integrity. I continued on my path of specializing in the childbearing years with Fertility classes offered through Claire Marie Miller. Upon completion, I went on to invest extra time to gain knowledge for the Specialist Certification also through Claire Marie Miller. I have been inspired to work with situations where fertility is challenged due to several friends that struggled to conceive, as well as some close clients. I believe in every woman's journey and look to support her no matter where she is on her path. Since early January 2012, I have been undergoing intense training in Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute. Now 4 years in to my studies, I am set to start assiting in the trainings to gain better clarity in this profound yet gentle work. CST has been a huge asset to my clients who are open to how gentle therapies can bring about a great healing shift in the body on so many levels. I love seeing how this therapy greatly impacts my clients and their lives. It certainly has had a deep impact on me. *Coming in September 2017 I will be adding another tool to my childbearing bag. CST for Conception to Birth. I already offer CST to my Mama's. However, this is an incredably indepth study of not just how to adapt a session, but how to be a specialist in the field. SO EXCITED!!!! A Support system of ultimate comfort will be used during your prenatal session with me. It's called the bodyCushion. The bodyCushion will alleviate pressure on the neck, breasts, and lower back. During the massage, you will be able to lie safely and comfortably on your belly at any stage of your pregnancy (the cushions cradle your body, giving no stress to any already over stretched ligaments) as well as on your back, and sides with no uncomfortable pressure on your sore hips. A good prenatal massage can ease many of the discomforts that are often the side effects of pregnancy. The secret is, a skilled Pregnancy Massage Specialist can go right to the root of the pain and discomfort, and relieve it. With regularly scheduled massage treatments, most of the pain and discomfort can be eliminated completely. I also like to give helpful tips and advice during every stage in your pregnancy to keep you feeling great, and to help you prepare your body for labor. I also believe that it is vitally important as you make your transition into motherhood that you receive care and nurturing support. Few women realize that their bodies are still postpartum well beyond the initial 6 week period. Hormones that were present for the pregnancy and birth are still being produced, some up to 6 months after the birth. Special considerations still need to be made for the safety of the Mama at this point when receiving a massage. Specialized Postpartum massage is a wonderful way to heal and ease the discomforts in your body following your pregnancy and birth, improve your energy levels and provide nurturing support. Rather than getting a pregnancy or postpartum massage from someone who is a jack of all trades (who only sees a pregnant or postpartum mother every month or two), experience a massage from an expert who is skilled in the massage YOU need. A massage designed especially for the Mama-to-be and for New Mamas! **I am an active member in the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), The American Pregnancy Massage Association (APMA), the American Pregnancy Association (APA), the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), the American CranioSacral Therapy Association (ACSTA) and the International Association of Healthcare Practitioners (IAHP).
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
