I am a body detective. I find your pain, and usually, the source. Since starting my massage career in 2000, I have come to appreciate the body's memory of how to feel, how to heal, and how to allow their internal senses to adapt to a stimulus. And it's uncanny how I can read a body in its levels of pain and stress. It's as if there's a red light flashing where someone's pain is. My hand goes right there, usually within seconds of approaching a client's body. I am a neuromuscular therapist, which means I find places within the soft tissues where the nerve is trapped. Scar tissue, postural and habitual muscular tension, major or minor injuries and any level of stress, all contribute to these areas of pain. While I do my best to work within my client's tolerance, I always encourage a deeper breath tp relax into the work being done. Clients are encouraged to quickly inform me when pain is sensed. I am also a practicing Reiki Master which enhances the effects of my skillful fingers, forearms, and elbows. With so long in the field, I have studied many modalities. I think of my work as Fusion Massage. I interview each client to see what they want in the massage and do my best to bring that to the table. I help my clients along the way with my observations, education and postural advice. Many long term clients have been seeing me for over 12 years. My type of therapy can and should be comfortable. When there's discomfort, there's a signal that something is not right in that area of the body. Communication is key to a successful massage. Will massage work for someone? ...or some condition? ... will it hurt? Well, what I always say is, you don't know until you try. The older the injury or pain, the more likely a client would benefit from a cumulative effect that several sessions of therapeutic massage will provide. Sometimes people stop getting massage when it stops hurting, but those who understand the underlying reason they were able to change pain to function, will make massage part of their lifestyle. Most doctors will support the idea of massage therapy and may even prescribe it. We can save you the tax on the services if you do have a script, but we do not offer insurance billing. See for yourself the difference massage therapy can make for your body, mind and soul.
