While I can say I have always enjoyed giving and receiving massage, I had not considered it as a career option. My life’s path had led to working in a corporate world of accounting, real estate or title law.
It was not until 2011 that I began to realize the powerful healing benefits that massage could bring to someone. It was also when I realized what it brought to me; how good it felt to truly make a difference in someone’s life. My father had been deemed terminally ill after his many years of successfully beating back prostate cancer. In attempt to make him more comfortable and help with his constant aches and pain, I would give him back massage which he loved and looked forward to each time I saw him. It was my Dad who told me I had a gift to share with others and I should pursue the education and become a massage therapist full-time. My Dad passed in July 2011. Nine months later, I began my formal education of Massage Therapy honoring him and honoring what I now know was, and is, my true life calling.
Our intended path of life is not always as clear as we may wish it to be. I have no regrets of where I have been but ever so thankful to be where I am today. I love my life, I love my career and I love who I am today.
