Style:
My sessions draw upon and integrate the varied healing modalities I have studied, as well my 14 years of prior experience as a trauma-informed mental health professional and educator. My massage practice is based in Lomi Lomi Pohaku (Lomi with hot stones); I love the grounding, elemental experience of the hot stones combined with slow, flowing strokes and ocean-like rhythmic breathing of Lomi. I utilize techniques from Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Clarity Breathwork, Aromatherapy, Sound Therapy and Reiki, in addition to my custom made CBD topical salves and soothing essential oil blends, to create nourishing therapeutic sessions that effortlessly ease my clients into a wholehearted state of bliss.
*I also offer specified Prenatal Lomi Lomi Massage and Reiki sessions for expecting mothers.
*All sessions open and close with gentle Sound Healings, bringing together Rose Quartz Crystal and Tibetan Singing Bowls, Koshi Chimes, Tongue Drum, other instruments and sacred Hawaiian chanting to seal each experience in a vibration of serenity.
*I am now offering Healing Sound Bath treatments for clients with accessible bathtubs who want to the ultimate relaxing and nervous system nourishing experience.
These include a 1 hour luxurious bath with my custom blend of bath salts, crystals, flowers and flowers essences, a cup of my nervous system soothing tea blend, and a Sound Healing to melt you into a state of total relaxation.
Education & Bio:
I began my holistic health and bodywork education in 2013, when I completed the Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor and Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher programs at the Dhyana Center in Sebastopol, CA. I integrated the science of Ayurveda with my established knowledge of Appalachian folk and vibrational medicine and Western Herbalism and began creating herbal products, offering Ayurvedic lymphatic bodywork and teaching Ayurvedic Yoga. I went on to complete Clarity Breathwork and somatic healing training with Ashanna Solaris and Dana-Dharma Devi in Mount Shasta, CA, as well as Yoga for Trauma training with Becca Odom in Asheville, NC and Tantra Yoga and Yoga Therapy teacher training with Brooke Sullivan of The Wild Temple in Nevada City, CA. I also completed Usui Reiki Levels I and II training with Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master and Karuna Reiki Master Teacher Odilia Forlenza of the North Carolina Reiki Training Center.
I finished my massage training at the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga in Asheville, NC in 2016, where I received a comprehensive education in Anatomy & Physiology from a Yogic perspective, Swedish, Deep tissue, Shiatsu, Prenatal, Thai, Sports Massage and Spa treatments, including Aromatherapy and Hot Stone Massage. One of my instructors recommended that I explore Lomi Lomi Massage, a Hawaiian healing modality, as I was naturally inclined to “dancing” around the table and linking fluid forearm effleurage strokes with the breath. I completed my first Lomi Lomi training on Kaua`i, where I learned the history, foundational sequences, sacred Lomi chants, and Prenatal Lomi in 2017. During my advanced Lomi Lomi practitioner training on the Big Island later that year, I was introduced to Lomi Lomi Pohaku, the Hawaiian healing practice of using warmed lava stones in combination with the traditional rhythmic strokes of Lomi.
I have since brought my massage experience into a wide variety of environments, including hotel spas, non-profit organizations, day programs for adults with disabilities, festivals, Lomi Lomi massage collectives and private treatments.
