Brookstown Wellness was founded in 2015 by Ashley Holdren, lead therapist. Ashley established Brookstown Wellness with the intent to provide holistic, goal-driven and easily accessible care for her clients. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with her community, and teaching others the many options of maintaining their own health and wellness through bodywork.
Ashley has an extensive background in fitness, and as an athlete herself, she has pursued martial arts, gymnastics, Crossfit, weight lifting, swimming, obstacle course racing and personal training. This broad range of experience provides her with a level of understanding in her clients not found at a traditional spa or office. In completing over 100 hours of continuing education after her licensure, Ashley is a life-long learner and always seeks the latest research to better her understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. She has since become a NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider herself in order to help other therapists who wish to pursue a career in sports medicine similar to hers.
An injury in 2013 left her in chronic pain and unable to exercise. As a mother of 2, her health and wellness was crucial to her family’s success. Through the help of a local massage therapy program, in which she would later enroll and graduate, she found a holistic path to healing that relieved her pain quickly with no medication and taught her ways to take care of herself going forward that allowed her to continue exercising and meeting her fitness goals.
After graduation, she immediately opened her practice, offering multiple modalities to her client base across the Triad. To date, she has partnered with multiple fitness facilities locally, providing wellness counseling and bodywork to thousands of members, their families and friends. Her blend of therapeutic massage, assessment, deep tissue, sports massage, cupping, and traditional Thai massage allow for a care plan that fosters healing and overall wellness moving forward.
With motivation and the community behind her, Ashley has now ventured out to create a wellness center that does more for each client. In November of 2021, the Brookstown Wellness center officially opened, and construction began on the new massage and wellness wing at 936 Burke. With dreams in mind and experience behind her, Ashley is moving the world of wellness into the modern era, step by step.
