Hello everyone,

  My name is Valentina White and have been a massage therapist(MT) for four years. I passed the state exam(MBLEX) and obtained my license at the end of 2020. After working on over 2,800 individuals, I yearned for more of a clinical / healthcare perspective with my massage career. Paying more attention on sports, pediatrics and adult therapeutic massages, I was able to research studies and achieve certifications with sports, PNF stretching, deep tissue, athletics and pediatrics. In the fall of 2021, I had achieved my clinical pediatrics training and certification working in the PICU/NICU at the University of Kentucky. Through my continue education, I soon gained the knowledge of being able to change how massage came across. Instead of only seeing the industry as a luxury, it could be part of physical therapy when the body is in need of healing and recover. This gave me the purpose. To be able to reach as many individuals as possible, in order, to offer a gentle push to someone who is determined in helping themselves over the hill. So together, let us show that massage therapy should be part of healthcare.

About Sunny's: 

Sunny's Massage and BodyWork location is: 5411-F W Friendly Ave Greensboro, NC 27410. The house is behind the first row of offices, labeled "F", shown circled in orange below (in photos). Sunny's is on the second floor with a peach colored "S" on the door. If the door sign says "in session", please have a seat up stairs and I will come and retrieve you.  If the door sign says "welcome" or is open, you may come in. There are restrooms on both floors, complimentary drinks, in the blue refrigerator, and snacks. I encourage each client to please arrive 15 minutes before scheduled appointment time. This ensures you will receive your full massage time.   

Communication is key for any successful massage! The massages will be personalized for each client. Please do not hesitate to speak up if pressure requirements or goals change. My role is to adjust to your needs, whenever possible. If any clients are not able to climb stairs, I am happy to accommodate when other massage rooms are available on the ground floor. Below are Sunny's services and descriptions, add-ons, what to expect, policies, payment options, cancellation fees, loyalty and birthday cards. Please review these beforehand. Sunny's Services: *All client will receive the total amount of time selected, unless stated otherwise!*   

Adult Massages:

Swedish 60minutes: $85 

Swedish 90minutes: $100  

-This massage that will ease your stress and allow you to slip into a calm state of relaxation. Using medium to light pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits. Massage gel or cream is used with smooth, long gliding strokes.

Deep Tissue 60minutes: $95  

Deep Tissue 90minutes: $110 

-Deep tissue massage is a technique used to relieve both muscles and connective tissue in deeper muscles. By using firm to deep pressure it may improve a client’s range of motion and heal muscular injuries. Suggested to add cooling gel to focused areas.

Sports Massage 60minutes: $95 

Sports Massage 90minutes: $110 

- Sports massage uses a variety of massage techniques designed to enhance your body’s flexibility and reduces muscle tension. This includes medium to firm touch with isometric stretching technique.
It is particularly great for those with active lifestyles including dancers, athletes, gym enthusiasts, etc. 

Therapeutic (Medical) Massage (50minutes): $105   

-This type of massage would present itself more of a "physical therapy session". This session is only 50 minutes long. Clients would come in and measurements would be taken of the specific area(s) and will communicate their goals. And, again, in month 3 and 6, to review the client's progress. Mixing the combination of stretching techniques(on and off the table), massage and suggested homework will help to advance client's progress outside of the studio.

Pediatric/Youth Massage:  

Pediatric Massage( 8-13yrs old): 

- Parents MUST be in the room for the massage to take place Pediatric massage uses gentle pressure to promote relaxation and calming the heartbeat. Massage is a way to stimulate and/or comfort the nervous system through touch. Communication with parents will instruct on how the sessions should progress. Pressure will be continuously checked throughout the session.  

- 15 minutes(8 & 9 yrs old): $30.00 

- 30 minutes(10-12 yrs old): $42.00  

- 50 minutes(13-18 yrs old): $48.00  

Youth Massages( 14-18 yrs old): 

 Parents MUST be in the ROOM (ages 11-14 yrs old), Parents MUST be in the BUILDING (ages 15 & 16 yrs old)

- At these ages, massage may become a way for youth to find a safe space and technique to release stress or worries that could come from school, sports, sleep issues, family life or other relationships. Pressure may range from light to medium/firm, depending on what is appropriate for the client. Pressure will be continuously checked throughout the session.

Available Add - On: (This is included in the massage time) 

Cupping (17yrs old +): $20.00  

Cupping is an ancient Chinese healing practice that uses suction to relieve tension on the skin. It's thought to increase blood flow, loosen connective tissue, and stimulate healing. Gliding: using suction with cupping while massage the specific muscle group (may produce redness on skin) Stagnant: leaving the suction cups on skin for 30 seconds to 1 minute (produces circular red spots; hickeys)

Therapeutic Massage gun (Adult): $25   

A therapeutic gun is a tool that massage therapists, physical therapists, and other medical professionals use to get into deeper muscles. Due to the depth and rapid speed, it is not recommended to use it for a long period of time. Fortunately, it can be used on most muscle groups so when it is incorporated in a massage it can be used multiple times.
 

PNF Stretching (Adult): $28.00 

Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching involves alternating between stretching and contracting specific muscle groups. The professional will stretch the client's relaxed muscle, hold it in a stretched position, and then will ask the client to push 10% of their capacity for a couple of seconds and release. Throughout each session, the percentage will slowly increase as the muscle group becomes stronger and more flexible.

Aromatherapy-Will be used in oil diffuser and on client's body: $8.00

Choose from(can choose up to 2): Tea Tree, Orange, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lemon Grass, Lavender

Cooling Gel - Leaves a cooling affect on the skin and seeps onto the subcutaneous muscle. 

$8.00 for two parts of the body 

Pediatric Scalp Massage( up to 13yrs old) :

Choose from Eucalyptus, Lavender, or Tea Tree oil

- The head massage will last up to ten minutes.

Scalp Massage with Aromatherapy: $15.00  

- Choose one scent: Tea Tree, Orange, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lemon Grass, Lavender 

- 10 minute focused massage 

Calming Space:  

-This is extra "relax time" which is added on to any adult massage for the clients to not feel rushed after their scheduled time. This time may give a client time to sleep a little more, or have a calming moment after a massage. Calming music may be played and the lights can be dimmed or turned off during this time. No massage or touch is offered during this time.

15 minutes: $12.00 

30 minutes: $20.00

New Client: "What to Expect": 

Each massage will start right on the dot of when your massage is scheduled, to insure that you receive your full "hands-on" time( 60 minutes = 60 minutes "hands-on"). Most individuals take everything off other than their underwear; other take even their underwear off. Either way, your body will be covered with a sheet and blanket the whole time unless I am working on those of muscle groups(calves and hamstrings = back of the leg). Before the massage starts, I go over if you have any "focus areas", places you want more massage on, or if you would like me to skip a muscle group(like your glutes, feet, scalp, etc.) due to having soreness, pain, or being ticklish. We will then decide on a pressure level that you may be OK with. Before stepping outside the room, for you to get undressed, I will ask you to put your body underneath the sheet and blanket once you have changed to your desire level of comfort. Any clothes that you decide to leave on, I will work around. I will knock before entering the room once more and make sure you are covered correctly. Throughout the massage, I will ask how the pressure feels to you and see if I need to increase or decrease.  

Sunny’s Massage and BodyWork Policies:

As your massage therapist, my intention is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help you achieve your goals. To ensure that you receive the very best treatment, please arrive 15 minutes early! This provides enough time to complete any needed paperwork and/or to discuss particular areas or problems, which may require specific or special attention. 

Confidentiality:

All information collected from clients, including health history forms, informal conversations, and SOAP notes(clinical notes) will be kept private and will not be shared without the written consent of the client. If needed, with your written permission, I may discuss your case with your doctor or other licensed health care provider.  

New Clients: 

As a therapist, the massage will not take place if a customer has not completed their "Intake Forms". This form insures to a client that I am update on their goals and/or any issues for said client. Sunny's, will send you an email or two before your scheduled appointment about filling out the forms. Please fill them out in detail to insure you will receive your full scheduled time. If a client does not fill out their forms online, a paper copy will be given at arrival. Choosing this option, will run into your scheduled session and you will not receive full time due to being unprepared. 

Professionalism:  

A successful massage experience evolves through mutual respect between the therapist and client. My massage is exclusively for therapeutic and relaxation purposes. There is absolutely no sexual component to my massage. No sexualized behavior or innuendo, in my sole discretion, will be tolerated. It will result in the immediate termination of the session and you will be charged your full scheduled service.  Furthermore, following another ethical guideline of my profession, my services will be declined to a client who arrives under the influence of any substances, at my sole discretion. You will be charged your full scheduled service.  

Payment:

When scheduling an appointment, there must be a card on file. Payment is due at the time of your appointment. The card will not be charged when you cancel before the 24 hours marker of your scheduled massage. However, you will be charged if, 1) are a “no-show" or cancel after the 24 hour window 2) arrive under apparent drug influence, or 3) exhibit unacceptable behavior/innuendo. 

Tipping:  

It is customary to add a tip for your massage therapist. This will go towards helping the business expand and gives a small "thank you", towards your therapist. Most tips are $15.00-$30.00 or you can customize your tip as you check out. Tips can be given through the website or use cash/ CashApp in-person. 

Cancellations: 

24 Hour Notice: 

This is required when canceling an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hours advance notice, you will be fully charged for your missed appointment time and selected add-ons.

Late Arrivals:

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Regardless of the length of your scheduled appointment, you will be responsible for the full session. Out of respect and consideration to others, please be on time.  
 

No-Shows:

Any clients, who either forgets or chooses not to come to their appointment, will be considered a no-show. They will be fully charged for their missed appointment time and selected add-ons.

Available Discounts:

Loyalty Cards

A new client will be given a "Sunny's Massage and BodyWork" loyalty card at the end of their first massage. The card will either have a sticker or a hole punched on the"1st circle", due to it being their 1st massage. On the 6th massage, the client will have the ability to apply one free add-on to their session. Card must be present in all following sessions for each circle to be marked. Card cannot be reused after sixth session.  

Reviews 

When a client writes a written review on Google or MassgeBook, they will automatically receive an additional 15 minutes added on to their next scheduled appointment. Going into service in November 2024. 

Birthday Day Offer: 

If a client puts down necessary information on the intake sheet, the client will receive birthday wishes with a 20% off total purchase offer on one massage as a birthday gift from Sunny's. This offer can only be used in client's birthday month and in that same year (ex: April 2024 only).
