Before mastering a healthy balance, I mastered the what-not-to-do at a young age. Cooking in kitchens six long days a week and not taking care of myself caught up with me quickly, but finding racquetball helped inspire me to lose weight and get motivated to not only be better at the sport but also to be healthier overall. I dropped 70 lbs. in six months and decided not long after to begin a career in personal training, taking me out of the kitchens I had worked in since I was 15. I attended the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) in Raleigh, NC, in 2008 and have been training ever since, adding ViPR and TRX certifications along the way. In 2018, I also added an ACE personal training certification and became a licensed massage therapist. Whether it's getting in shape through personal training or reducing stress, nothing is more gratifying than doing what I do. Helping motivate others and seeing it stick is what keeps me going.
