Hi! I’m Shelby. I’m a wife, a mother, and share my home with 2 dogs and 2 cats, plus a couple exotic pets. I have been in the massage therapy field for over a decade. I enjoy painting, pastels, and crochet. I also love to read, all things comfort foods, watching comfort TV before bed, and hiking. My personal journey as a massage therapist started long before I knew I wanted to pursue massage therapy as a career. From a young age, I had the desire to want to help my mom and other family members feel better when they were struck with pain that affected their daily lives. I had a “knack” for finding the areas that needed the work, so they said. I saw a commercial for Everest Institute’s massage therapy program and decided that was how I was going to help the world. Through safe therapeutic touch. My first introduction to barefoot massage pressure was during a class at Everest Institute. I had an instructor that was DeepFeet certified and showed us what the pressure felt like by applying compressions to my back and legs. The difference between her hands and her feet was phenomenal! If you’ve never experienced barefoot massage before and love pressure, I always say “it’s like being pleasantly steam rolled.” Myofascial barefoot massage is slow, comfortable, evenly sustained deep tissue pressure that I provide with my feet, not my hands. The advantage to me as a therapist is that this type of work allows me to use my body weight, gravity, and the broad surface of my foot to provide a truly out of this world massage experience. Come find out for yourself!
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
