Now booking through October 2024.
I love being a massage therapist and I really enjoy working with humans who are learning to regulate their bodies. Often people will see massage as part of a goal of generally improving their life. Sometimes the goal is "learn to relax," sometimes it is lessen pain and stiffness which may accompany getting older.
At this very unique time there is an increased need for skilled touch to bring the body and mind into balance. At this time I am not requiring masks during bodywork sessions.
I mostly practice "functional" massage therapy. This gets to the root of an issue, solving dysfunction by removing its cause, restoring flow. I like to work with my client to determine why there is a stuckness to begin with. Resolving this issue will probably solve pain and movement stickiness. Is the issue due to nerves not firing or with fascia being tight? Is it a pliability issue? Is it a breath issue? Fascinating.
I also integrate sound, vibration and meditation into my sessions, which are considered "Energy" work. I use techniques to calm the nervous system and assist you to "balance your energy," which may leave you feeling deeply relaxed and more grounded.
My professional training modality is called "Muscular Therapy." These are mostly orthopedic treatment techniques developed by Sports Medicine expert Dr. Ben Benjamin in the 1960s.
Take care of yourself, you are worth it.
