Welcome to Touch of Tranquility Massage Therapy! 

My name is Theresa Joiner, and I am the owner of Touch of Tranquility Massage Therapy.    

I spent almost 30 years in the property and casualty insurance business.  On August 24th, 2023, I lost my job in a mass layoff along with about 2400 other associates. I was 3 months shy of my 30th work anniversary.  I was in shock, hurt and angry that almost 30 years of dedicated service meant nothing to the company that let me and so many other dedicated employees go.  

Well, lucky for me, I had been realizing for about a year, that I really was NOT that happy in my career any longer and had been pondering WHAT my 2nd career would be if and when I walked away from there.  I had decided that I would become a massage therapist!  I loved my massages to help me cope with life's stresses, and primarily job stress.  I thought how wonderful it would be to make people feel as good as I felt when I walked out of my therapist's office.  By the end of the week of losing my job I was enrolled in massage therapy school!  I enrolled in the BodyCraft Wellness Massage Therapy Program at Rock Valley College.  Classes started in September of 2023 and I finished my classes and credit hours in July of 2024, passed my state boards in August and started working at Wellness Innovations in September of 2024! 

I truly feel I have met my calling.  I am right where I am meant to be.  I love helping people feel better, and to forget about their problems and aches and pains for a while.  

I'm on to my next endeavor.  I am moving my business to K.B. Chiropractic Center in Rockford, IL.  I am so thrilled to be working with Dr. Kelly and her staff, and her patients!  But you do NOT have to be a patient of Dr. Kelly to schedule a massage with me!
